Lakwin Aviation Ltd. was certified by the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL) to provide domestic commercial civil passenger and cargo transport services after full filling the necessary requirements.
The Air Operator Certificate (AOC) was handed over by Civil Aviation Director General and Chief Executive Officer P.A. Jayakantha to Lakwin Air Chief Executive Officer on behalf of Lakwin Air Accountable Manager Lakshitha Weerasinghe.
The entry of more airlines to the Sri Lanka air transport industry will be a catalyst to the national economy through the promotion of the tourism industry.
The Application submitted by Lakwin Air was scrutinised by the Civil Aviation Inspectors of CAASL by considering the organisational structure, aircraft capability, availability of qualified and well trained staff, instruments/equipment and other required facilities and documents for the certification under the guidance of DGCA and CEO P.A. Jayakantha and the leadership of CAASL Deputy Director General (Flight Safety Regulations) Saman Gunawerdena,.
DGCA and CEO emphasised that the AOC holder shall be required to maintain standards for Air Safety and Security of all activities and the Lakwin Air representatives promised to act as per the scope of the AOC.
CAASL Director (Aircraft Operations) Capt. Lushan Fernando, Senior Civil Aviation Inspector Eranga Dasanayake, Isuru Sarathchchandra and Capt. Daminda Rambukwella were also present on this occasion while Director Operations Capt. Hirantha Perera and other senior officers represented the Airline.
