During the last few years, SAJ Associates Ltd. has been marketing SAJ branded, organic and natural products both locally and internationally. This includes moringa powder and tea to moringa capsules along with turmeric, cinnamon, bitter gourd and garcinia capsules.  

All these products are USDA and EU organic certified with GMP, HACCP and ISO 22000 certified. SAJ Associates Managing Director Jayampathy Arambepola said: “As a company we been very specific in identifying our product range where we have always marketed only natural and healthy products to our customers. Accordingly, for the first year in the new decade, we are very excited to announce the launch of a new range of handmade glycerine soaps for the Sri Lankan consumers. All these soaps are 90% made only out of plant base oils. We test marketed and researched the market and have planned a range of nearly eight varieties of soaps but we will initially launch four varieties and then look at more varieties like aloe vera related products   in the near future.”

He added: “Firstly, we will launch glycerine soaps with moringa, cinnamon, lemongrass and charcoal with a very attractive, eye catching packaging of international standards to match the quality of the products. After the initial test marketing operation, we are now very sure our customers will be most satisfied with our latest range of handmade glycerin soaps. In fact, our customers inquired if the products were imported due to the high-quality standards but we were only proud to say it is 100% Sri Lankan.

 “As specified earlier, to give the best quality to our consumers and we have obtained Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) certification from the National Medical Regulatory Authority (NMRA) along with test certified by ITI and SLSI. This is to ensure the highest quality processing standards are maintained and of course to look at the global market as well. Obtaining NMRA GMP certification alone is a huge victory to us to imply very high-quality standards are maintained at all times and for consumer safety.

“We will be entering the Malaysian market this month with the first international order which is a huge plus. Also, a confidence booster and a stepping stone to more interannual markets as our SL quality for   high-quality glycerine soaps has been accepted by the Malaysian market. It also confirms that our manufacturing capabilities are excellent.”

The jubilant manufacturing expert Nalaka Gunesekera celebrating his victory with the Malaysian order said: “By drawing moisture to the top layer of the skin, glycerine helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles and improves skin function to slow down aging of the skin.

“Glycerin soap which is a mild soap will keep the moisture intact with your skin. Will also reduce the bacterial formation and fungus in your skin and will eliminate the itching and eczema. Hence glycerine soaps will do a lot of good to your skin and avoid the skin from ageing.  In fact, it will keep your skin younger looking and protect it from UV rays. The glycerine soaps will be excellent to protect the skin of young children above three years of age from numerous chemicals,” he concluded, hinting that more unique healthy products for the skin were in the pipeline like shampoos, face wash and many others along with international certification.
