Dairy co-operative Fonterra has announced that its Managing Director of the Sri Lankan and Indian Subcontinent business Sunil Sethi will leave the business after four productive years in-market, to return to his family in India.
The co-operative has appointed Vidya Sivaraja as the new Managing Director for the Sri Lankan and Indian Subcontinent business. Born and raised in Sri Lanka, Vidya has been with Fonterra for 15 years, most recently as the Managing Director for Malaysia and Singapore businesses.
Fonterra Co-operative Asia Pacific CEO Judith Swales paid tribute to Sunil’s contribution saying that he has done an exceptional job in energising and creating a highly engaged future-ready organisation in Sri Lanka.
Sethi has also played an integral role in the launch of Fonterra’s JV arm in India, Fonterra Future Dairy and subsequently its new portfolio of dairy innovations under the Dreamery brand. He will continue to serve on the Board of Directors of Fonterra Future Dairy.
Swales added: “Fonterra has invested in developing talent and knowledge in Sri Lanka and also
has earned the trust of Sri Lankan families for generations through its highest standards in quality and dairy nutrition.” “We are firmly committed to Sri Lanka and contributing to a healthy, happy nation through initiatives like our Abiman Varam community programme, developing our local dairy farmers and meeting the nutritional needs of consumers across all life stages,” she said.
Sethi will continue to lead the business until April to facilitate a smooth transition.
