The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce is to hold a seminar on Sri Lanka’s Trade Information Portal (TIP) on Thursday 16 August from 02.30–4.30 p.m.at the Chamber Auditorium. The seminar, being the first public forum on TIP, intends to raise awareness on the key features of TIP, and discuss how the private sector could benefit from key trade information published in this interactive site.
Sri Lanka’s Trade Information Portal (TIP) was officially launched recently, achieving one of the major milestones of the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA). TIP is also considered an important first step towards implementing a National Single Window for Sri Lanka.
The keynote address will be delivered by Department of Commerce Director General Sonali Wijeratne. The seminar will also feature a demonstration on the key features of the TIP. In addition to the above speakers, the panel will feature a consultant from the World Bank and a private sector member from the National Trade Facilitation Committee. The panel will be moderated by Ceylon Chamber Economist Jayani Ratnayake.
