EDB forms committee on go-global initiative of printing industry

Export Development Board recently formed a steering committee from high level stakeholders and experts in the printing industry, who accepted their invitation to be present at a meeting to assist the drive to develop exports in three major areas, packaging, stationery and publishing. 

EDB is also in the process of completing a coffee table book to be placed at Sri Lankan and foreign embassies and such other locations to promote capabilities of Sri Lankan printing industry for export growth. In addition two short video clips are being produced to complement the message imparted by the coffee-table book that can be shown in export promotion events as well as to be used by printing companies as a curtain raiser to their individual presentations. 

The member companies in the new committee are Krishna Ravindran – Printcare Plc., Keerthi Gunawardene – Graphic Systems, Giridaran – Intermart Printers, Chaminda Kariyawasam – Softwave Printing and Packaging, Dilum Fernando JF&I Packaging, S. Sunandini, Gunaratne Offset, Dammikka Siriwardhana – Design-logics, Dinesh Kulatunga – Neptune Publications, Ananda Wickramaratne – Ingrin Institute of Printing and Graphics and Lal Jayawardene – Sri Lanka Association of Printers (SLAP). EDB’s Printing Sector team will be part of the committee.

SLAP President Ranjith Fernando also took part in the discussions. Delan Silva 1st VP of SLAP was elected chairman of the committee.

Saman Maldeni – Director – Export Services of Export Development Board presided and Akila D. Soyza, Assistant Director – Export Services and Dinesh Attanayake, Export Promotion Officer – Export Services coordinated the meeting.
