Denara Training Institute, an establishment set up to offer vocational training courses for women, will open its doors on 19 October.
To celebrate the launch, a complimentary workshop ‘Little Chefs’ will be conducted on the day of opening, for kids aged eight to 16 in honour of Children’s Day. The children will be making doughnuts, fancy butter cookies and strawberry cakes, at this free workshop. There will also be a craft course for the participants in making patchwork bags and pencil cases on the day.
Denara Training Institute has been established by a group of volunteer young professionals with the aim of empowering women through livelihood enhancement. The institute plans to focus on short courses for women, with the aim of skill development.
The institute, established in a spacious, fully equipped building is in the process of obtaining TVEC registration and hopes to conduct NVQ Level 1-4 certificate courses in pastry and bakery, dress making, beauty culture, computer applications assistant, graphic designing and more. All courses will be conducted by qualified professionals with relevant industry experience.
For the forthcoming holiday season, the institute will focus on courses covering food items such as handmade chocolate (20-22 October), Christmas cookies and rich cake.
