Diesel and Motor Engineering PLC (DIMO), one of Sri Lanka’s leading diversified companies, has successfully launched its own power panel manufacturing plant in Weliweriya DIMO Logistics Centre.
DIMO commenced manufacturing their own electrical power panels two years ago, mainly to cater to the electrical projects secured by various divisions of the company.
DIMO have successfully achieved a stride by expanding its operations into the manufacturing of low voltage electrical panels, adhering to the highest international standards to cater to the local and international market.
This venture includes providing electrical panel solutions for commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects and many more. The product solutions provided consist of manufacturing, supply, installation and commissioning of high quality Power Distribution Panels, ATS/ AMF/ Changeover Panels, Power Factor Correction Capacitor Bank, Motor Control Panels and PLC based automated systems panels. The company’s vast clientele currently includes MEP contractors, Civil Construction Companies and high end corporate and Government clients such as Brandix, Hirdaramani, Access PLC, Polytex and Sri Lanka Navy.
As another initiative to elevate the manufacturing industry of the nation, this new exciting business venture for DIMO expects to cater to the foreign clientele in the near future and are currently working with an ongoing Maldivian project. As of now, the company has succeeded in completing over 65 free standing panels and more than 350 wall mounting panels for major projects across the country.

DIMO Executive Director Wijith Pushpawela said, “We are delighted to have introduced these power panels under the DIMO Lumin Brand name. As quality and standards are pivotal aspects in the power panel manufacturing industry, we will constantly invest in improving our products. Currently, our new facility can produce LV electrical panels up to 4500A from the 4b standard. We are extremely buoyant with this new venture and hope that it will contribute immensely to the manufacturing sector of Sri Lanka. DIMO is planning to achieve the target of 100 free standing panels and 500 wall mounting panels for this financial year.”
DIMO now stands as specialised contractors for any type of electrical installation work in structures including apartments, factories, hotels, water treatment plants and waste water treatment plants, in low voltage (LV) applications.
The scope of capacity includes design, supply and installation of total electrical installation solutions, electrical power distribution systems, cable management systems, power, control and instrumentation cabling. With major completed projects such as the Brandix Batticaloa and Rambukkana, Nestle Lanka, Kurunegala, Screenline, Katunayake, Causeway Paints, Panadura and Esquel Sri Lanka, Koggala, the Weliveriya power panel manufacturing plant at the DIMO Logistics Centre has proved that it is an extremely valuable asset to the many services of DIMO. Ongoing projects include the Renal Care Unit Teaching Hospital, Batticaloa, Brandix, Avissawella, Access Residences, Thalawathugoda, GSS, Habarana and Kesbewa and RIL, Colombo 2.
