The Government has re-exported all stocks of contaminated coconut oil, Trade Minister Bandula Gunawardena told Parliament yesterday.
Responding to a question raised by Sri Lanka Podujana Party (SLPP) MP Mohamed Muzammil, Gunawardene said none of the contaminated coconut oil had reached the local market and assured that the Government has taken steps to import copra in order to produce coconut oil locally.
He also told the House that a sum of Rs. 6,094 million has been spent to import coconut oil from 2015
and 2019.
