Offshore Supply Vessel Kreuz Installer, built in 1981 and owned by Kreuz Subsea Technologies PTE, docked in DryDock 4 for its special survey at the end of December last year.
All routine jobs were carried out, including blade seal changing of all seven Azimuth thrusters, an overhaul of two turbochargers and 40 electrical motors, MGPS anode renewal, servicing of the tank level gauge system, etc.
The shipyard also provided inspection and repair assistance for diving support system instruments such as NDT testing of the SPHL lifting frame, bridle stops, cradle, bell Lars sheave pins, load testing of various equipment, new fabrication and prooftesting of the Air LARS dive basket.
Due to the fast and effective logistical arrangements by the yard through Ceylon Shipping Agency, which is a subsidiary of CDPLC, the yard arranged a number of spares (more than one ton) to be immediately shipped. Upon the request of the owners, CDPLC mobilised some spares after the ship had sailed, connecting to the Indian office on behalf of the owners.
The project team was headed by Ship Manager Samitha Silva and commercial and logistical support was handled by Invoicing Engineer Brian. The owner’s interests were looked after by Marine Assets Director Andre Marmen and Vessel Manager Nihal Adikari.
The repairs were carried out in accordance with Indian Register of Shipping class society requirements. Agencies Ltd. efficiently handled the local husbanding work.
