The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce yesterday presented the coveted Best Corporate Citizen Sustainability Awards 2020, recognising sustainable champions of the local corporate world.
Ceylon Biscuits Ltd., won the ‘Best Corporate Citizen Sustainability Award 2020’ while Aitken Spence PLC and Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC became the first and second runner-ups of the competition, respectively.
Dilmah Ceylon Tea Company PLC won the less than Rs. 15 billion annual turnover ‘Best Corporate Citizen Sustainability Award 2020’ under ‘Category B’.
The 10 best sustainable corporates that have performed with outstanding sustainability initiatives under both ‘Category A and B’ are recognised with these awards. Aitken Spence, Bank of Ceylon, Ceylon Biscuits, Citizens Development Business Finance PLC, Commercial Bank of Ceylon, Dilmah Ceylon Tea Company PLC, Hatton National Bank PLC, National Development Bank PLC, Nestlé Lanka PLC and Sri Lanka Telecom PLC were recognised as the top ten corporate citizens of 2020.
CCC also presented Triple Bottom-line Awards, Category Awards, Sector-based Sustainability Champions, Consistent Commitment and Continuous Improvement, Best Sustainability Project Awards 2020, Merit Certificates and Best Presented Application.
