COYLE Chairman and members with participants and resource personnel
The Chamber of Young Lankan Entrepreneurs (COYLE) held its first ‘Entrepreneur Development Workshop’ on 31 August at Oak Ray Regency, Kandy. It was held as a run up to its flagship entrepreneurial event, the ‘COYLE Leadership Forum’, which is to be held on 10 October. It was attended by COYLE members and invitees representing various sectors of the business community.
The event was held as one of many entrepreneur development workshops to be held in different locations in the country. The next workshop is to be held in Jaffna on 28 September at Jetwing North Gate, Jaffna, targeting the SME sector. The events are held with a view to enhance the Forum. The opening speech was delivered by COYLE Chairman Aminda Rodrigo who welcomed the invitees to the potential investment and business possibilities in the country. Business owners had the opportunity to learn about current methods of gaining exposure through digital media, financial management for non-financial personnel and a session with a COYLE member on his success story with a view to inspire start up entrepreneurs. The basic format of the workshop consisted of three segments, namely: Marketing, Financial Management and Strategy and an Inspirational story.
The first session was the ACCA presentation which was delivered by T.P.L. Raj who addressed the Marketing aspects, followed by the Facebook presentation conducted by Udara Dharmasena of Neo@Ogilvy, provided insights into the relative sales impact delivered by Facebook, with specific insights into how to improve their Facebook campaign planning.
The next session highlighted the inspirational story of COYLE member Nishantha Kumara, Chairman, Screen Line Ltd., who narrated the reasons for his success.
This segment is part of fulfilling COYLE’s mission statement of ‘excellence through recognition’. Following the two sessions, B2B member networking took place.
Attendees conveyed their sheer gratitude for organising such an event and were especially re-invigorated with renewed optimism and drive after the inspirational story by Nishantha Kumara.
COYLE prides itself in the success of this important event and it is fully committed to continue on the same path of providing its level-best of services and assistance to its members and the business community of the country.
