CEMS-Global’s 3 international exhibitions for textile and garment sector and logistic sector kick of

CEMS-Global USA’s three comprehensive international exhibitions focused to the entire textile and garment sector of Sri Lanka in names of 9th Colombo International Yarn and Fabric Show and Sri Lanka International Airfreight and Shipping Logistics Expo 2017, Home Tex Sri Lanka 2017 kicked off yesterday at Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre (SLECC), Colombo. The exhibitions will run through 15-17 September.

Chief Guest Minister of Industry and Commerce Rishad Bathiudeen was present as the Chief Guest at the opening ceremony held at the venue to formally inaugurate the exhibitions. Also present as special guests were JAAF Secretary General Tuli Cooray, Sri Lanka Apparel Brands Association Chairman Azam Habib, CEMS Lanka Country Director Ejaz Sarwar and CEMS-Global USA and Asia-Pacific Group CEO S.S. Sarwar.

CEMS-Global USA launched its operations in Sri Lanka in 2009 with most of its important international branded trade exhibitions for the trade and industry of Sri Lanka with a vision to further expand into the fast booming Sri Lankan industry sector and bringing most reputed international manufacturers and suppliers through its exhibitions to Sri Lanka.

As years pass by, the ‘The Colombo International Yarn and Fabric Show’ brand becomes more and more strong and in turn brings more work and challenge for CEMS-Global to continue working over the edge and maintain the legacy and keep Textech as the best exhibition for the textile and apparel industry of Sri Lanka and taking it further to newer countries.

Since its inception in 1992, CEMS-Global-celebrating 25 years in the exhibition sector has made a commendable presence as a multinational exhibition organiser in South and South-East Asia with its operations in eight countries. CEMS organises over 40 exhibitions per annum on all important sectors of the trade and economy. With its Global HQ in USA, CEMS carries out its activities from CEMS-Global USA based in New York, its own operated offices – CEMS Lanka, CEMS-Global Asia-Pacific Singapore, CEMS Bangladesh, CEMS China, CEMS India, CEMS Indonesia CEMS Brazil along with 10 Associate Offices around the World.

The textile and apparel industry of South Asia has the key position in the export sector. Keeping in mind the potential of this sector and to further boost the exports, CEMS-Global has been organising the fall edition of Colombo International Yarn and Fabric Show to cover the increasing demand in the country for the yarn and fabric imported from overseas as well as manufactured in the country.  And the concurrent event Sri Lanka International Shipping and Logistic Expo will cater the manufactures importers exporters and all the services with the Logistic service providers in the industry.

The Textile and Apparel Industry of Sri Lanka has been seeing a continual and steady growth in terms of manufacturing and exports. With such consistent and enormous growth of its apparel sector, there is a definite need for the Lankan textiles and apparel sector to witness the latest technologies to upgrade itself. This need is fulfilled through ‘CEMS-Global USA’ and ‘CEMS Lanka’ by organising the ‘9th Colombo International Yarn & Fabric Show 2017 – Fall Edition’, with concurrent exhibitions – ‘International Home Textile Sri Lanka Expo 2017’ and ‘2nd Sri Lanka International Air Freight, Shipping & Logistics Expo 2017’ all under one roof focusing on entire apparel and textile world and logistics industry of Sri Lanka. 

With the ever increasing competition in the world market, the Industries of Sri Lanka can expand their share in the market abroad and at the same time could attract more foreign investment in the highly potential Industry, specially the garment and textile industry.

More than 50 exhibitors from different countries are participating in these expos. These three expos in one go targeted to the entire business community will play an important role by assembling worldwide yarn and fabric manufacturers and logistic sector at the doorsteps of the manufacturers of Sri Lanka under one roof to appraise them of the latest developments and technology available enabling Sri Lanka to further compete in the world market. 

The exhibitions will be open for Trade/Business visitors only every day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. upon registration at the Expo venue.
