The Sri Lanka office of the Chengdu Association for Foreign Trade and Economic Co-operation (CAFTEC) celebrated its third anniversary on 18 November.
In the past three years, the office has taken root in Sri Lanka, actively built platforms for economic and trade exchanges, and promoted cooperation between Chengdu and Sri Lankan enterprises in infrastructure, energy, environmental protection, agriculture, science and technology, trade and other fields.
CAFTEC said it appreciates the support of the International Business Council (IBC) for helping it launch the office in Colombo.
Since its establishment, the office has built close ties with over 100 Chinese enterprises in Sri Lanka; has promoted over 200 co-operations; has carried out more than 300 economic and trade exchange activities with Sri Lanka; has established friendly relations with more than 150 local government and business organisations in Sri Lanka, such as the IBC, Chamber of Young Lankan Entrepreneurs, SAARC Chamber of Commerce, the Board of Investment, etc., and has made economic and trade exchanges and cooperation between Sri Lanka and Chengdu more confident and smoother.
On the occasion of the third anniversary of the Sri Lanka Office, CAFTEC expressed its heartfelt thanks to the support and assistance of various political and business organisations in Sri Lanka. “The successful implementation of projects and cooperation promoted by CAFTEC is inseparable from your help.
We will continue to move forward and contribute to the economy and trade between Chengdu, China and Sri Lanka in the future,” it added.
