BMICH team with the award
BMICH – Sri Lanka’s iconic landmark has been crowned as the Gold Award winner in the Leading Convention Centre category of the prestigious 2020 South Asia Travel Awards (SATA) competition bringing recognition to Sri Lanka as the premium convention destination in the South Asian region. The SATA Awards Ceremony was held as an online virtual event on 15 December.
This is the third time that BMICH has been presented with the Gold Award as the Leading Convention Centre in South Asia at the SATA Awards and the fifth international award won by BMICH in as many years. Previously BMICH was recognised for the International Quality Era Award in Geneva 2016 and Paris 2017.
“We are delighted that SATA has recognised BMICH once again with this prestigious Gold Award as the Leading Convention destination in the South Asian region. Winning this award is not only an honour for BMICH but is an honour to the whole country highlighting our infrastructure and service quality in the Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE) sector,” said BMICH Chief Executive Sunil Dissanayake.
“Our high-performance team keep performing consistently complimenting the world-class infrastructure at BMICH to provide a premium experience for every event irrespective of the size. At BMICH quality is a way of life,” he added.
SATA, endorsed by multinational associations, recognises the tourism sector in the South Asian Region based on their facilities and service quality. The South Asian Travel Awards aims to encourage and raise service standards of the Travel and MICE industries in the region.
