Sri Lanka’s most outstanding developers in the real estate industry were recognised on 12 July at the prestigious award ceremony held at Shangri-la, Colombo organised by PropertyGuru.
PropertyGuru is considered as one of Asia’s foremost online property companies and The PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards is considered as the region’s biggest and most respected real estate awards programme covering more than a dozen countries across Asia, rewarding only the best developers and developments at a domestic and regional level.
Leveraging on its vast experience in monitoring contests and award systems around the world, BDO was entrusted with overseeing the entire judging process. BDO network firms in Asia has been working with the organisers of PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards for over a decade to ensure that the judging is conducted fairly and with integrity. Terry Blackburn, founder and managing director of PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards, mentioned that BDO has been independent throughout the process and conducted themselves with utmost professionalism.
The central judging panel meets, in the presence of a BDO representative, to discuss, select and agree upon a long list of entrants in each category.
BDO Sri Lanka Managing Partner Sujeewa Rajapakse mentioned that he is delighted to be partnering such an esteemed awards programme and said that his team has continuously been monitoring the judging process. He was of the view that awards ceremonies of this calibre, will boost the construction industry to achieve excellence while catering to the increasing demands for luxury space, especially in and around the Metropolis.
The Partners and staff of BDO were present at the gala dinner to witness the winners carry away their trophies, with Sasanka Rathnaweera, Partner, Audit and Assurance being called upon to present the Best Housing Development (Sri Lanka) award.
