Asia Pacific Daily is a multilingual new media platform launched in July, 2012 by the Asia-Pacific Regional Bureau of the Xinhua News Agency.
Headquartering in Hong Kong, the agency has branch offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen as well as several major foreign cities including Colombo, Bangkok, Sydney, Kathmandu, and Jakarta.
As a new multilingual new media platform, Asia Pacific Daily operates APD news website in Chinese and English with eight sub-websites including Australia, Japan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam and DPRK, as well as Free Trade Zone Observers to publish articles on free trade zones in China.
APD is now shifting more attention on Sri Lanka through its website and APD news app.
The app is popular globally and is now being promoted in Sri Lanka through the APD Sri Lanka bureau.
The Chief Executive Officer of Asia Pacific Daily Jin Wensheng said that APD will be more focused on the Asia-Pacific region, and Sri Lanka is one of the key points.
“In the future, more local news and international news related to Sri Lanka will be extensively covered and APD also wants to be the bridge between China and Sri Lanka, not only in an official level, but also in non-governmental exchange and business activities, especially in the backdrop of China’s Belt and Road Initiative,” he said.
The Asia Pacific Daily app can be downloaded via Google Play Store and the APD news website http://www.apdnews.com/ or via the APD Sri Lanka Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/APDNewsSriLanka/
