The National Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka (NCE) the only private sector Chamber serving exporters will conduct its Annual General Meeting on 17 January 2019 at the Hotel Galadari commencing at 6 p.m. to elect office bearers, and council members for 2019, and to conform to other statutory requirements.
The Chief Guest at the Post-AGM Business Forum will be High Commissioner for the United Kingdom in Sri Lanka James Dauris. During his address the British High Commissioner is expected to focus on the impact of ‘BRIEXIT’ on the Sri Lankan export sector, and other important issues related to international trade, which will be particularly useful to Sri Lankan exporters, since the United Kingdom is an important export market for Sri Lanka.

The launch of a ‘Coffee Table’ booklet compiled by the Chamber in collaboration with Lanka Monthly Digest (LMD), which contains a host of important information related to the export sector as well as articles contributed by prominent personalities in the export sector, on the challenges and prospects for Sri Lankan exports in the International Market.
Launch of a Monthly Program the Chamber will conduct in collaboration with the popular TV Channel ‘Derana’ scheduled to commence from February 2019. This monthly program will highlight important contemporary issues related to the exports sector including discussions with the relevant State and Private Sector personalities. Award of Certificates to Life Members of the National Institute of Exports (NIOE), which is an affiliate and the professional training arm of the NCE, including awareness creation on the importance of the respective training programs, and professional courses conducted by the NIOE. The Post-AGM Business Forum will offer a great opportunity for participants to network with the Council Members of the NCE, who are leading exporters and the Sectoral Heads of many Products and Services sectors related to exports, and also with officials in the export sector who will attend the Forum on invitation.
