At the tea auction held on 3 and 4 April, an invoice of Pekoe grade from Devonia Tea Factory, selling under the ‘Andaradeniya’ selling mark, fetched an all-time record price of Rs. 990 per kg at the Colombo Tea Auction. This line of tea was purchased by M/S Supreme Ceylon Teas and was sold through Mercantile Produce Brokers Ltd.
This tea factory is situated in Kotapola region and is owned by Andaradeniya Estate Ltd Chairman Jinadasa Wethinige. This factory is renowned for producing high-quality standard Low grown teas and is amongst the best Low-grown tea factories in the country.
