A seminar on digital signatures for a paperless process at the Customs will be held on 29 July from 2.30 p.m.-5 p.m.
The Customs, in a bid to improve efficiency for its users, launched the digital signature facility for paperless processing. The move was part of a stepped-up automation transformation at Customs, aimed at improving ease of use, reducing cost and time for the private sector.
The seminar is organised by ACFA for the benefit of approximately 3,500 of its members and to educate the relevant authorities and the public about this new initiative.
The speakers are Retd. Major General Vijith Ravipriya (Keynote Speaker), Lanka Clear General Manager/CEO Channa de Silva, Customs Deputy Director - Legal Sudattha Silva, Customs Deputy Director (ICT) Thilaka Pragnarathne, and ACFA Sri Lanka President Uvaiz Samsudeen (Panel Chair). The seminar will be useful to importers and exporters, Custom house agents, bank officials, shipping agents, company secretaries, accountants and lawyers.
