As the most innovative professional education provider in Sri Lanka, the Association of Accounting Technicians of Sri Lanka (AAT Sri Lanka) has started an online webinar series for their students a few weeks ago. This is the first time in AAT history that the digital classroom was introduced to the students of all three levels. As per the concept, AAT Sri Lanka plans to reach every student island-wide to deliver the lessons and notes online.

The first webinar was conducted on 15 April and AAT Sri Lanka was able to conduct over 24 online webinars for all the students in Level 1, 2 and 3 in all three languages so far. AAT does this as free lessons for all the students by gathering them on the Zoom platform and the sessions are conducting as an engaging seminar with the lecturer and the students.

The sessions are conducting by the well experienced and professional lecturers as an online video which can be seen by all participants. And the presentations are also been delivered to the participants at the end of each session and many students have gained knowledge from these digital classrooms. Apart from the Zoom sessions, the same webinar is live streaming on AAT Sri Lanka official YouTube channel. It has already been witnessed by over 4000-5000 students as majority of our students are using YouTube under due to the lock down situation in the country. AAT webinars are starting at 10 a.m. daily and it’s conducted for 1 to 1.5 hours as an interactive session with the students. Students can engage with the questions clarify if necessary and also, they can request more clarification after the session if needed. Also, it is a remarkable fact that AAT Sri Lanka conducts these webinars in Sinhala, English, and Tamil languages to cater to all students island-wide.

Parallel to the digital classroom concept, AAT Sri Lanka has initiated to issue selected new e-study texts free of charge to the students. Students can follow AAT Sri Lanka official Facebook page and request their digital copy from the level they follow and language. AAT Sri Lanka will be continuing the webinar series in the future as well as there is a popular demand from students.

Further, AAT Sri Lanka has also initiated online registrations and online payments for new students and renewal of existing students through the official website (www.aatsl.lk) and sends all the necessary documents via email. Due to this situation, AAT Sri Lanka has also decided to wave off the penalty fee for the renewal of the year 2020 as the online option is now available.
