97 member Lankan biz team at Indian engineering sourcing show

A group of 97 business delegates from Sri Lanka are visiting Mumbai to participate in India Engineering Sourcing Show (IESS) being organised by Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Engineering Export Promotion Council of India (EEPC) from 22 to 24 March.  



The Sri Lankan delegation is visiting this Show with the objective to forge business partnership and identify potential suppliers to source textile machinery, printing machinery, pharmaceutical machinery, food processing machinery, packaging machinery, agricultural machinery, electrical machinery and all machinery parts, auto parts, pumps, fasteners, hand tools, cutting tools, electrical home appliances, building materials, hardware etc.

This is the first such delegation from Sri Lanka to visit India exclusively to source engineering items. All the Sri Lankan businessmen have been provided air-fare and accommodation by EEPC.

The National Chamber of Commerce (NCCSL) in cooperation and coordination with EEPC mobilised the Sri Lankan businessmen in large numbers to take part in this event. During the visit NCCSL and EEPC will sign an agreement for future cooperation.

IESS2012 is India’s largest international engineering sourcing fair. It will showcase of India’s manufacturing capabilities to an international audience.  IESS 2012 will highlight India as a ‘TechnologyHub’ value chain for the manufacturing industry from SME to large scale organisation. It will also be a first level networking platform for real business, international trade, investment, joint ventures and even mergers and acquisition.

Over 300 exhibitors from India and abroad and over 600 international business delegates from Sri Lanka, USA, Canada, Europe, Middle East, ASEAN, Africa, CIS and LAC have confirmed to participate in this event. Major India Private Sector Companies participating are Tata Motors, SUZLON, Finolex Cable, Birla Precision, Miranda Tools, Mukund, Stuzl-Chspl India etc., while the Major Public Sector Companies are Department of Heavy Industry, Heavy Engineering Cooperation (HEC), Bharat Earth Movers Limited (MEML), IIT Mumbai etc. EEPC is also organising vendor development activities with Indian and foreign manufacturers/importers, investment summit, product launching, business matchmaking activity, industrial activity summits, special networking sessions etc.
