94th AGM of Rubber Traders today

The 94th Annual General meeting of the Colombo Rubber Traders Association will be held today, 5 July, at the Samudra Ballroom of the Taj Samudra Hotel. The meeting will be attended by all stakeholders of the Rubber Industry which includes planters, traders, manufacturers and exporters of rubber. The CRTA is the focal point for the rubber industry in Sri Lanka. The Chief Guest on this occasion will be Resident Representative of the IMF Dr. Koshy Mathai and the Guest of Honour will be Dr. Gamini Seneviratne, Director of the Rubber Research Institute of Sri Lanka. Dr. Mathai completed his Bachelor’s Degree at Harvard University and was awarded his Doctorate at Stanford, both in Economics, at two of the most distinguished and prestigious institutions of education in the USA. He joined the International Monetary Fund 12 years ago and has served in a range of countries, including the US, Turkey and Zambia. He commenced his posting as IMF Resident Representative for Sri Lanka and Maldives in October 2009, before which he was based in Washington.
