Closer to 100 corporate executives took part in the pre-brief seminar held recently at the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce to create awareness on the upcoming ‘Best Corporate Citizen Sustainability 2016’, an annual event which recognises the sustainability champions of the corporate world.
The pre-brief seminar saw the attendance of representatives from both listed and non-listed, and also small to medium and large scale firms operating in the country. The session was chaired by Eardley Perera, who is the chairman of the evaluator’s panel of the event. The seminar was held to provide guidelines on how to apply for this prestigious awards scheme.
Conducted for the 13th consecutive year, the ‘Best Corporate Citizen Sustainability Award 2016’ will present a galaxy of awards to recognise the best performers of corporate sustainability initiatives in Sri Lanka, starting from the ‘Best Corporate Citizen Sustainability Award 2016’, Top ten corporates, Category awards, sector awards to top performers for key sectors of the economy and The Best Presented Application etc.
In addition to the main awards, the competition will also recognise exemplary projects carried out by companies relating to Planet and People such as Education, Community services etc. The awards giving ceremony will take place on 24 November in Colombo.
