Public Security Minister Prasanna Ranatunga today condemned attack on peaceful protestors and has ordered immediate action by Police.
"As the Minister of Public Security and as a citizen of Sri Lanka, I strongly condemn the attack on peaceful protesters and express my deep concern over the situation in the country.
I have directed Police to take immediate action against people who attacked a peaceful demonstration and also instructed the relevant authorities to take immediate steps to protect the basic human rights of those who are peacefully protesting in accordance with the Constitution,” Prasanna Ranatunga said statement.
