Protest forces passengers to walk miles to BIA

Departing passengers are forced to walk miles to the Bandaranaike Airport as anti-government protests today blocked the connecting road from the Expressway is completely blocked at Averiwatte junction.

Many tourists were inconvenienced as a result whilst threatening mis-connections to those who had shorter time to do pre-boardimg formalities.

Officials at BIA said normal operations continued despite countrywide token strike against the Government by trade unions.
