Two more persons with COVID-19 have been discharged from hospital following recovery, bringing the total recoveries in the country to 65.
The two persons were receiving treatment at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases (NIID) and the Colombo East Base Hospital, today’s situation report by the Epidemiology Unit states.
According to the report, 166 COVID-19 patients remain in hospital, including 84 at NIID, 41 at Welikanda Base Hospital, 26 at Colombo East Base Hospital, and 13 at the Iranawila Hospital. Two patients are in the process of being sent to a treatment facility.
The number of active cases includes five identified in the 24-hour period ending at 10 a.m. today that brought the total confirmed cases in Sri Lanka to 238. Of these, 38 were identified at quarantine centres, 49 from the Colombo District, 45 from Kalutara, 35 from Puttalam, and 28 from Gampaha.
There are a further 161 persons currently hospitalised over COVID-19 suspicions, including 20 at the Sri Jayewardenepura Teaching Hospital, 20 at the Homagama Base Hospital, and 19 at the Welikanda Base Hospital.
