Total COVID-19 recoveries rise to 16

A total of 16 persons have recovered from COVID-19, including five in the last 24 hours, dropping the number of active cases to 104, the latest situation report by the Epidemiology Unit shows.

No new cases were reported since last night and the total number of confirmed cases remains at 122.

While two deaths have been reported in the country, 173 suspect COVID-19 cases are in hospital. Of these, 49 are at the Homagama Base Hospital, 19 are at the Welikanda Base Hospital, and 18 are at the Negombo District General Hospital.

The number of confirmed patients from quarantine centres remains the same at 34, but Colombo has seen an increase of one, bringing the count to 30, with 18 confirmed patients from Kalutara and 15 from Puttalam.
