Police seek detention order for Easter attack-linked suspect

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) will today produce before Fort Magistrate Court, a suspect they arrested on Sunday in connection to ongoing Easter Sunday bombing investigations.

According to the Police, the CID plans to obtain a detention order from the courts to hold the suspect for investigation. The suspect, upon questioning had revealed the location of a building used by the bombers for indoctrinating and training in the Madurankuliya, Mundalama area.

Police have found a large stock of books and publications from the same location and have begun to investigate their content. The building is under Police guard, the Police Media Unit said in a press release.
