Nearly 340 persons have been taken into custody for violating curfew, Police said today.
The arrests were made between 6.00 a.m. on 20 March and 9 a.m. 22 March.
All the arrested persons were taken in for staying outdoors during curfew hours.
Among them were groups engaged in sports in public playgrounds, keeping shops open, or loitering while drunk.
Legal action will be taken against the violators, the Police Media Division said.
The curfew in the Colombo, Gampaha and Puttalam Districts has been extended till 6.00 a.m. on Tuesday and will be reimposed at 2.00 p.m. the same day.
