The Sri Lanka Navy has intercepted a large haul of drugs estimated to be worth Rs. 10 billion in an operation in high seas.
According to Navy Spokesman Lt. Cmdr Isuru Sooriyabanadara, the Navy has found 500 kg of substances suspected to be cocaine and 500kg of methamphetamine known as ICE on board a vessel which has been taken into custody and is presently being towed to port.
The Navy did not release any further information citing an ongoing operation.
