Eight more test positive for COVID-19

Eight more residents from Bandaranaike Mawatha in Colombo 12, which was isolated last week, tested positive for COVID-19 today.

According to the Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry, eight persons tested positive this afternoon, bringing the total infected persons in Sri Lanka to 303.

According to health officials, 97 patients have been released after recovering from the virus up to now while 199 persons are being monitored in hospital on suspicion that they may be infected with the virus.

Seven people have succumbed to the virus in Sri Lanka.
