Despite warnings, Police keep netting more curfew violators

The Police have arrested 1,245 persons who have violated the curfew regulation and detained 336 vehicles used by them in the last 24-hour period, ending at 6 am today. According to the Police Media Unit, 13,468 people and 3,353 vehicles which were used by them, have been taken into custody ever since curfew regulations came into effect on 20 March. Legal action will be taken against the violators and their vehicles may be detained for the duration of the curfew, according to DIG Ajith Rohana said.
