Curfew imposed on non-high risk districts that was earlier to be lifted on 14 April has been extended to 16 April, the President’s Media Division said today.

Curfew in high risk areas including Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Puttalam and Jaffna will continue indefinitely, the statement added.

Movement between districts remains prohibited and curfew lifted at 6 a.m. on Thursday will be re-imposed at 4 p.m. on the same day.

The change in lifting curfew came after eight new COVID-19 cases were identified today, bringing the total number of cases in Sri Lanka to 198.
