The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases has increased to 120, with five new cases reported in the 24 hours between 10 a.m. yesterday and 10 a.m. today.
According to the latest situation report from the Epidemiology Unit, 11 individuals have been discharged after recovery, including one in the last 24 hours. This brings the number of active cases to 108. A total of 114 individuals remain in hospital.
Of the active cases, 98 persons, including two foreigners, are at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases (NIID), nine are at the Welikanda Base Hospital, and one is at the Colombo East Base Hospital.
The district distribution of the confirmed cases show 29 from Colombo, 18 from Kalutara, and 15 from Puttalam. From those at the quarantine centres, 34 have tested positive.
A total of 21 of the 114 suspected patients are at the Welikanda Base Hospital, 19 at the Homagama Base Hospital, and 12 at the Ragama Teaching Hospital.
The total suspected cases include four foreigners, who are in Ragama Teaching Hospital, Karapitiya Teaching Hospital, Welikanda Base Hospital, and Homagama Base Hospital.
