COVID-19 recoveries rise to 70

Five new COVID-19 recoveries since 10 a.m. yesterday have brought the total recoveries in the country to 70, with one patient from the National Institute of Infectious Diseases (NIID) and four from the Colombo East Base Hospital being discharged.

The total number of active patients is 161, with no new COVID-19 patients identified since last morning.

According to the Epidemiology Unit’s situation report, 83 of these patients are at the NIID, 41 are at the Welikanda Base Hospital, 22 are at the Colombo East Base Hospital, and 15 are at the Iranawila Hospital.

The number of confirmed patients in Sri Lanka thus remains unchanged at 238, of whom 49 are from the Colombo District, 45 are from Kalutara, and 35 are from Puttalam.

There are also 148 suspect persons currently hospitalised, including 19 at the Welikanda Base Hospital, 17 at the Ragama Teaching Hospital, and 14 at the Kurunegala Teaching Hospital.
