The total number of COVID-19 recoveries has risen to 50, with three patients recovering in the 24-hour period ending 10 a.m. today.
According to the latest situation report by the Epidemiology Unit, the patients were receiving treatment at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases (NIID).
A further 133 COVID-19 patients remain hospitalised (89 at the NIID, 27 at the Colombo East Base Hospital, and 17 at the Welikanda Base Hospital). The total number of confirmed cases in the country is currently at 190, with one new case confirmed over the last 24 hours.
Of the confirmed cases, 44 are from the Colombo District, 34 from Puttalam, 27 from Kalutara, and 16 from Gampaha. The 190 confirmed cases include three foreign nationals and 37 individuals in quarantine centres.
The Epidemiology Unit’s report also shows a total of 224 suspected cases hospitalised at present, including 26 at the Sri Jayawardenepura General Hospital, 24 at the Homagama Base Hospital, 21 at the Kalutara District General Hospital, and 21 at the Ratnapura Teaching Hospital.
