COVID-19 cumulative cases top 200 mark in SL

The number of confirmed cumulative cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has crossed the 200 mark today. This is following the confirmation of four new cases today, bringing the total to 203 according to the Health Promotion Bureau. The number of active cases, however, is 141 with 55 recovered and seven dead.

The Bureau said 154 persons are currently under investigation for COVID-19 in hospitals. The Government said as of Friday, 1,455 persons remain in 12 quarantine centres managed by the armed forces. Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi is optimistic that the Government can identify all COVID-19 patients by 19 April.
