Several heads of foreign missions, including the United States, Canada, Australia and the European Union, yesterday commended the Government for measures taken to combat COVID-19.
This was expressed at a special meeting that was held with heads of missions of several foreign nations and the Presidential Task Force on Essential Services Head Basil Rajapaksa at Temple Trees.
Presidential Task Force on Essential Services Spokesman Prof. Charitha Herath said the Government had briefed heads of mission about the measures taken by the Government and future plans to re-open the economy.
“Presidential Task Force on Essential Services Head Basil Rajapaksa explained what the Government is doing at the moment. He also discussed how the Government’s plans to resume economic activities after this outbreak and how to tackle the challenges that lie ahead of us,” he said.
