6 new cases bring total COVID-19 count to 186

Six more persons tested positive for COVID-19 during the 24-hour period ending at 10 a.m. today, raising the total number of confirmed patients in Sri Lanka to 186, with 138 active patients.

Of the total count, 44 are from the Colombo District, 34 are from Puttalam, and 26 are from Kalutara.

Of the persons at the quarantine centres, 37 have tested positive. Ninety-six of the active cases are currently receiving treatment at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases (NIID), 27 are at the Colombo East Base Hospital, and 15 are at the Welikanda Base Hospital.

The latest situation report by the Epidemiology Unit states that there are currently 228 suspect patients in hospital, a drop of over 25 since yesterday, when the number of suspect cases was 255.

Of the 228, 34 are at the Homagama Base Hospital, 23 are at the Ragama Teaching Hospital, and 20 are at the Welikanda Base Hospital.
