Sri Lanka’s tea production for the month of April 2015 amounted to 31.78 m/Kg, vis-à-vis 29.52 m/Kg in 2014 reflecting a +2.25 m/Kg growth.
Cumulative tea production for January to April 2015 recorded 111.1 m/Kg up by 7.66 m/Kg from the corresponding period of last year, according to Ceylon Tea Brokers.
It said elevation wise High Grown Tea Production has gained in April 2015 by 1.0 m/Kg whilst Medium Growns recorded 5.5 m/Kg in 2015 vis-à-vis 4.2 m/Kg in 2014 (+1.26 m/Kg). Low Growns recorded 17.75 m/Kg in April 2015 vis-à-vis 17.77 m/Kg in 2014 (-0.02 m/Kg).
CTCs recorded 1.72 m/Kg for the month of April 2015 vis-à-vis 1.49 m/Kg for the same period last year (- 0.22 m/Kg).
