Tea auction produces slew of all-time records

Carolina estate achieves all time record price Carolina Estate managed by Watawala Plantations PLC established an ‘all time’ record price of Rs. 530 for a line of Medium Grown CTC PF1 grade at the Colombo Tea Auctions concluded this week. The purchase was made by Stassen International and sold by John Keells PLC. Carolina Estate situated in the salubrious climes of Watawala has made steady progress since the completion of the expansion program of the Factory by recording an increase of Rs. 50 above the CTC Medium Grown Average for this season.     Hingalgoda estate achieves a ‘hat-trick’ of all time record for PF1 Hingalgoda Tea Factory situated in Hiniduma, Galle, achieved a ‘hat-trick’ of all time record prices for a Low Grown CTC PF1 grade for the third consecutive week, when two of its invoices sold at Rs. 670 at Colombo Tea Auctions concluded on 15 October 2013. The two invoices were purchased by Ranfer Teas and  Regency Teas. This factory also secured an all time record price for the PFNGS grade at Rs. 590 and the invoice was purchased by Ceylon Tea Marketing.  These invoices were sold by broker John Keells PLC. Hingalgoda Tea Factory is managed by Tea Small Holder Factories PLC.     Meddakande estate achieves all time record price Meddakande estate situated in Balangoda achieved an all time record price of Rs. 720 per kg for a liquoring FF1 grade at this week’s tea auction surpassing the previous record of Rs. 660 which was established last week. This line of tea was purchased by Imperial Teas and John Keells PLC was the selling broker for the produce. Meddakande estate is managed by Balangoda Plantations PLC.     All time record price for Wewelkandura tea factory Wewelkandura Tea Factory situated in the Kahawatte region has established an all time record price at the weekly tea auctions held on 15 October 2013 by securing an attractive price of Rs. 740 for a BOPF.SP grade. Wewelkandura Super tea factory is renowned for its top quality orthodox tea. Anura Peiris is the proud owner of the above tea factory and John Keells PLC are the Tea Brokers marketing the produce.     All time record price for Hiniduma small holders teas Hiniduma Small Holders Tea Factory situated in Neluwa – Medagama achieved an all time record price at the weekly tea auctions held on the 15 October by securing an attractive price of Rs. 720 for a BOPF grade. Hiniduma Small Holders tea factory is renowned for its top quality orthodox tea and excellent liquors. Hiniduma Small Holders Tea Factory is managed by Tea Small Holders Factories PLC and John Keells PLC are the Tea Brokers marketing the produce.
