Sunil new MD at Richard Pieris Plantations

Sunil Poholiyadde, a veteran in the plantation industry has been appointed as the Managing Director of the Plantations Sector of the Richard Pieris Group which comprises Kegalle Plantations PLC, Namunukula Plantations PLC and Maskeliya Plantations PLC with effect from 12 August.

Poholiyadde started his career in the plantation sector 36 years ago as an Assistant Superintendent and became a Senior Superintendent in a short period of time. After gaining the necessary experience in the field he joined the senior management of Kegalle Plantations in the year 1997.

A protagonist in the plantation sector, Poholiyadde is a Director of Richard Pieris Natural Foams Ltd., Exotic Horticulture (Pvt.) Ltd. and AEN Oil Palm Processing (Pvt.) Ltd. A director of the Rubber Research Board and the Wages Board for the Rubber Growing and Manufacturing Trade, Poholiyadde is the current Chairman of the Plantation Services Group of the Employers’ Federation of Ceylon (EFC), Council Member of the EFC and the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce. He is also in the Advisory Committee on Rubber and Plastics of the Sri Lanka Export Development Board, Executive Committee of The Sri Lanka Society of Rubber Industry and Vice Chairman of the Colombo Rubber Traders’ Association.
