Competition from other beverages, climatic changes and worker wages are seen as key issues the global tea industry is facing. These dangers also confront Sri Lanka, which is one of the largest exporters of tea in the world. These findings were revealed in a new study compiled by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce.BUP_DFT_DFT-10-10

The study points out that the tea industry will have to fight it out to sustain or grow its share with strong competition coming from other beverage producers, while climatic changes will also present challenges to the industry as the tea plant is very sensitive to changes in temperature and rainfall. The fact that workers are moving out of the industry seeking better wages is also another cause for concern.

The latest study, conducted by the Business Information Division of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, is entitled ‘The Tea Sector Statistical Analysis 2014’. The study includes an ‘Industry overview’, ‘Brief on industry challenges’, ‘Leading destinations for trading tea’, ‘local tea industry overview’, ‘Leading export destinations of Sri Lanka’, ‘Growth rates of tea export products’, etc.

It also contains information about the competitors of the Sri Lankan tea industry and product HS code descriptions as well as a collection of other information.

‘Tea Sector Statistical Analysis’ is an ideal tool to identify market trends and the performance of the tea industry over the years. It also serves to identify potential niche markets for the future. To obtain this study, please contact 5588892 or email [email protected].
