At the Colombo Tea Auction held on 6 January 2014 an invoice of Battawatte Estate, OPA grade sold at a new all-time high of Rs. 560 per kilogram, beating the previous record of Rs. 550 per kg, for the Uva High Grown category. Battawatte Estate is part of Madulsima Plantations PLC a member of the Stassen Group. These teas were purchased by the Euro Scan Exports Ltd. and was marketed by Asia Siyaka Commodities PLC.
