All-time record price fetched by Thalgasyaya Tea Factory

An all-time record was obtained at the Colombo Tea Auction held on 18 June for a FBOPFEXSP Grade Invoice No. 170, produced by Thalgasyaya Tea Factory under the “Dilshan” selling mark.
The teas were sold at a price of Rs. 6,250 per kg in the low grown category, which was sold by Bartleet Produce Marketing Ltd. – the tea brokers and purchased by the buyer/exporter Akbar Brothers. This has surpassed the previous all-time record of Rs. 6,050 for the same grade.
Thalgasyaya Tea Factory which is situated in the Galle District, owned by M.D.S. Gunasekera, and is managed by Asitha Perera.
