An invoice of Rothschild PF1 achieved a price of Rs. 510/- per kg at this week’s Ex Estate sale which equals the All Time Record price for a Medium elevation PF1 achieved just last week by Carolina Estate. The Rothschild tea was purchased by Vintage Teas (Pvt) Ltd for one of their superior buying standards and was sold through the catalogue of Lanka Commodity Brokers Ltd.

This factory is managed by Pussellawa Plantations Ltd and has recently seen a remarkable improvement in their standard of manufacture.

The Estate Manager Christy Jayasekera maintains that the secret behind this success is the emphasis he has paid to accepting a high standard of green leaf which indeed is a prerequisite for the pruduction of good quality tea. The fields of Rothschild are maintained in pristine condition and is a popular tourist attraction.
