Strathdon Estate achieves all time record price again in first tea auction of year 2018

Strathdon Estate, Hatton achieved an all time record price of Rs. 670 for a BP1 grade in the Western Medium Grown CTC category, surpassing their previous record price of Rs. 640 established in April 2017, at the weekly tea actions held on 3 January 2018. The Teas were auctioned by M/s., Forbes and Walker Tea Brokers Ltd.

Strathdon Estate is situated in Hatton/Watawala agro climatic district at an elevation of 1,066 metres above sea level. The estate is a Rain Forrest Alliance and ISO 22000 – Food Safety and Hygiene Management Standard certified facility. Lalindra Abeywardena is the Manager of this estate and M/s Watawala Plantations PLC is the managing agent.
