Sri Lanka promoted its confectionery, fresh fruits and processed food products at the Second edition of the SIAL India 2019; Food, Food innovation and Food Processing International Exhibition held at the Pragati Maidan Exhibition Centre in New Delhi from 19-21 September.
Sri Lanka’s participation was organised by the High Commission of Sri Lanka in New Delhi in association with the Sri Lanka Export Development Board.
Sri Lanka was represented at SIAL India 2019 by Sri Lanka Export Development Board together with six Sri Lankan companies: Ceylon Biscuits Ltd., Cargills Quality Foods Ltd., Hero Nature Products Ltd., Driangle Ltd., Fernando Gibson & KAE Ltd., and Jagro Ltd., displaying confectionery products, processed foods, value added coconut products, spices and fresh and value added fruits. This was the first time that Sri Lanka participated in this international exhibition.
Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to India Austin Fernando inaugurated the Sri Lanka National Pavilion at the SIAL India 2019. SIAL India 2019 is among the leading professional food and food processing sector exhibitions being held annually in India, and visited by leading buyers, wholesalers, distributors, experts from food technology industry and retailers.
The exhibition was attended by a total of 203 local and international exhibitors from twenty four countries as well as over 5000 business visitors. UK, USA, France, Spain, Turkey, Italy, China, Russia, Czech Republic, Belgium, Thailand, and Indonesia were among the other countries that participated in this event.
