Kelani and SLS Tea Factory achieve all-time record prices

These record-breaking prices were achieved by Forbes and Walker Tea Brokers Ltd. at the final tea auction for the year held on 19 December. 

Kelani Tea Factory

The Kelani Tea Factory, situated in Yatiyanthota in the Sabaragamuwa Province, achieved an all-time record price of Rs. 950 for a Low Grown BOPSp Grade. This line of tea was purchased by Mabroc Teas Ltd. Kelani Tea Factory is managed by Kelani Valley Plantations Plc.

SLS Tea Factory

The SLS Tea Factory, situated in Akuressa in the Matara District, also achieved an all-time record price of Rs. 750 for a BM grade.The SLS Tea Factory was established in 2004 and is under the SLS Group of Companies. It is owned by S.L. Sunil. This factory is currently managed by P. Gammage.
