All-time record price for Nayapane Estate
Nayapane Estate located in Pussellawa, renowned for producing teas of unique liquoring characteristics, achieved an all-time record price at the weekly tea auction held on 29 June, by securing an attractive price of Rs. 2,450 per kg on a BOP grade in the Western Medium category. This invoice of tea was purchased by Uniworld Teas Ltd.
Nayapane Estate comes under the purview of Elpitiya Plantations PLC, managed by Aitken Spence Plantations Management PLC. This line of tea was marketed and sold by John Keells PLC.
Aislaby Estate achieves all-time record price
Aislaby Estate located in Bandarawela, renowned for producing quality Orthodox teas, established an all-time record price of Rs. 2,850 per kg for a FBOP grade, in the Uva High category at the weekly tea auction held on 28 June.
Aislaby Estate is managed by Malwatte Valley Plantations PLC and this line of tea was purchased by Sun Shine Tea Ltd., on behalf of Ahmad Tea. The sale was conducted by tea broker John Keells PLC.
All-time record price established by Demodara Estate
Demodara Estate, located in Badulla renowned for producing quality liquoring Orthodox teas achieved an all-time record price of Rs. 3,450 per kg on a BOP1 grade in the Uva Medium category at the tea auction held on 28 June. This line of tea was purchased by Tea Tang Ltd.
Demodara Estate is under the purview of Hapugastenne Plantations PLC, managed by Browns Plantations. This invoice of tea was marketed and sold by John Keells PLC.
Yet another all-time record price for Pedro Estate
Another all-time record price was established by Pedro Estate at the tea auction held this week. An attractive price of Rs. 2,300 per kg was achieved for a BOP grade under the “Loves Leap” mark, surpassing their previous record price of Rs. 2,200 per kg achieved for the same grade at the auction held a week ago. This line of tea was purchased by Heritage Teas Ltd.
Pedro Estate is situated in Nuwara Eliya and is renowned for producing teas with delicate liquoring characteristics. The estate is managed by Kelani Valley Plantations PLC and this line of tea was marketed and sold by John Keells PLC.
Dunsinane Estate sets all-time record price
Dunsinane Estate, which comes under the purview of Elpitiya Plantations PLC, established an all-time record price for a CTC High Grown ,BP1 grade at Rs. 940 per kg at the weekly tea auction conducted on 29 June. This line of tea was purchased by Tea Trends Exports Ltd. and marketed and sold by tea broker John Keells PLC.
All-time record price for Kalubowitiyana Tea
Kalubowitiyana Tea Factory situated in Morawaka, established an all-time record price of Rs. 2,550 per kg on a PF1 grade in the CTC Low Grown category at this week’s tea auction held on 29 June. This line of tea was purchased by Imperial Teas Ltd.

Hingalgoda Tea Factory re-establishes all-time record prices
Hingalgoda Tea Factory situated in Hiniduma, Galle, known for producing premium quality low grown CTC teas, established two all-time record prices at the weekly tea auction held on 29 June, by securing an attractive price of Rs. 2,550 per kg for a PF1 grade in the Low Grown category, surpassing their previous record of Rs. 2,150 per kg for the same grade obtained at last week’s auction and also a price of Rs. 2,150 per kg for a PF in the Off Grades category. These lines of tea were purchased by Sun Shine Tea Ltd. on behalf of Ahmad Tea and Qualitea Ceylon Ltd. respectively.
